Tesar scored the Titans’ first two goals, then sealed the win with the team’s fourth goal with 10 minutes remaining.
“Cole just played phenomenal,” said Hopewell coach Robb Bolar.
Edwin Gomez had the other Titan goal, which gave Hopewell a 3-1 lead at intermission.
Bolar said his team, now 4-6-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the I-Meck, continues to improve. Hopewell was coming off a 1-1 tie with Mallard Creek.
“I think we’re doing good things,” said Bolar. “I think we’re starting to figure it out.”
Titan keeper Ryan Santee, all-region last year, has again proven this year that he can play soccer, though he’s garnered some attention for his game-winning field goal in the Titan football team’s win over Hough Sept. 23.
“He’s been unreal,” said Bolar. “He kept us in the Mallard Creek game.”
North’s Seth Ewing-Hedricks and Juan Penarando scored goals, and Viking Michael Paulino narrowly
“He nailed it,” said Viking coach Paul Kikta.
North fell to 1-9 and had scored six goals entering its match with West Charlotte this week.
“I see signs, but we continually make the same mistakes,” said Kikta. “Something’s not clicking.” Hopewell plays at I-Meck co-leader Hough Monday. missed scoring a goal on a bicycle kick in the first half.
