The Huskies were impressed with how much Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban participated in the camp. The two-time national championship-winning coach was visible throughout the camp, posed for pictures with campers, and a few Huskies had spontaneous interactions with him.
Jared Sobo earned a handshake for making a play, but linebacker Brian Jones missed an assignment at the absolute worst time.
He was participating in a 7-on-7 drill, and there was a miscommunication as to who was supposed to guard a receiver running a wheel route. Saban happened to be walking by at that moment and yelled, “Whose man was that?”
Jones raised his hand, and before he knew it, Saban was in his face, giving him an earful. Jones says he couldn’t believe he was getting chewed out by the Tide coach.
“I talked to Nick Saban, but not the way I wanted to,” he says.
