“I know what to expect this year, and I’m hoping to do a lot better,” says Stilley, a sophomore.
Stilley actually started Hough’s first game as a freshman and was 4-for-4 for 41 yards and a touchdown in the 25-6 road win over fellow first-year school Rocky River.
“Josh has a mentality of what you want out of a high school quarterback,” says Hough coach Bobby Collins. “He rolls the bad off his shoulders real quick.”
A junior, Hall remembers getting into the first Viking game against Olympic last year. He threw one pass and missed his intended receiver by 15 feet.
“I was so nervous,” he says, able to laugh about it now. “But as the season went on, my nerves calmed down.”
Hall had two key plays in the 21-17 road win over Hough, having a part in the game’s first and final scores. His 53-yard touchdown pass to Rashaan Brown in the first quarter helped North build an early lead, and his touchdown on a two-yard quarterback sneak with eight minutes left gave the Vikings the win.
Hall finished the year with 125 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Stilley compiled 472 yards with four touchdowns and nine picks.
