Hough

Written by

After a 2-8 campaign in their inaugural season, the Hough Huskies return with essentially the same personnel. One notable exception is leading rusher Quintarius Jordan, who left Hough after football season a year ago and graduated from North Meck, where he had North coach Mike Bradley as a history teacher.

The looming question for the Huskies is how much have they improved since the first year. So far, coach Bobby Collins likes what he sees, from his stronger, more seasoned second team.

“The tempo of practice is a lot faster,” he says. “The offense is gelling, the defense is flying around.”

What does he want to see during the next few weeks, before the Huskies open at home against Independence?

“I just want to see the defense tackle well and the offense execute,” says Collins. “That’s the main thing.”

Husky linebacker Connor Millikin returns after suffering multiple leg injuries last year. But the Huskies lost middle linebacker Ryan Lemke for the season when the junior tore his ACL during the 7-on-7 tournament Hough hosted.

Sophomore Josh Stilley is slated as the starting quarterback after splitting time with Keegan Brennan last year. Brennan, a senior, has moved to the H-back and tight end position.
