With top 15 performances, 16 CDA divers advanced to the USA Diving Zone B championships in Michigan this weekend.

“There were some great individual performances at the region meet,” said CDA coach Aaron Hintz. “But this win was really about team performance — each of our divers contributed. Everyone was supportive, and it was the best team atmosphere I have ever seen.”

Cornelius’ Jocelyn Porter was first in the 1- and 3-meter springboard competitions for girls ages 12-13, and Samantha Nickerson of Huntersville was second in the girls’ 11-and-under 1- and 3-meter springboard competitions. Davidson’s Harrison Mitchell placed second in the 1-meter springboard and third in the 3-meter springboard in the boys’ 14-15 division. Charlotte’s Sazzy Gourley (boys’ 16-18 1-meter springboard) and Waxhaw’s Sara Maleski (girls’ 14-15 3-meter springboard) each posted third place finishes.
