Huskies swap players, keep winning

Written by

The Hough High soccer team had two players return from injury this week, but immediately lost two more. The results were the same, however, as Hough beat West Charlotte 8-1 and Mooresville 2-0.

Santiago Patino and Nathan Deering, who also kicks for Hough’s football team, returned to the lineup after missing time due to leg injuries. But Cheyn Roux was ill early in the week, and leading scorer Nathaniel Goodwin suffered a concussion against West Charlotte.

Patino and Mace Timberlake scored against Mooresville, both off assists by Tanner Roberts. Jaron Bradley notched the shutout.

At 10-1-1, the Huskies were ranked second in the 4A state coaches poll entering Wednesday’s match with Lake Norman, after press time.
