Huskies, Wildcats tied for first in I-Meck soccer

Written by

The boys’ soccer teams from Hough and Lake Norman played to a 2-2 tie last week and remain tied at the top of the I-Meck Conference standings after posting league wins Monday.

While Lake Norman had to rally to beat Mooresville 4-3, Hough shutout Mallard Creek 1-0 Monday behind a Tanner Roberts goal off a Justin Collins assist. Jaron Bradley recorded the shutout as the Huskies improved to 11-1-2 overall and 6-0-1 in the I-Meck. Forward Nathaniel

Goodwin played his first game since suffering a concussion against West Charlotte. Husky midfielder Santiago Patino scored both goals against Lake Norman on penalty kicks, including one in overtime. Lake Norman missed two penalty kicks, and Hough had two goals called back because of offsides penalties.

The Hough-Lake Norman rematch is Oct. 24 at Hough.
