Knights 3-1 at break

Written by

Lake Norman Charter’s football team went on the road and defeated Wake Christian 17-10 last Friday, improving to 3-1. The Knights are off Friday and return to action Sept. 23 in a home game against West Lincoln.

“We’ve still got a lot of things to work out,” said LNC coach Bob McKay. “But we’re pleased with where we are right now.”

Michael Dorsainvil had a 1-yard touchdown run for the Knights and threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Chase Webb. Kicker J.C. Brooks booted a 32-yard field and added both extra points.

Defensively, Lee Bobo led the Knights with three interceptions, including one with 40 seconds to play.

The Knights have six games remaining, all in the Southern Piedmont Conference, and McKay said the team will return to the basics during its extra practice time. But he likes what he is seeing in terms of morale from a team that won just once last year.

“It’s just a renewed sense of confidence,” he said.
