Just the opposite, in fact. The Knights are beginning to intimidate their new conference brethren.
Through Tuesday’s 3-0 win at Bessemer City (25-9, 25-11, 25-17), the Knights are 10-0 overall and 7-0 in the SPC, having played all league foes once.
“So far, so good,” said LNC coach Jeff Moran. “It’s been a great start to the season.”
Of LNC’s wins, seven have been by a 3-0 score, including all but one in SPC play. Only East Lincoln, which lost to LNC 3-1, has won a game against the Knights.
Moran says sophomore Julie Newell has emerged as a key player during the early season.
The Knights were to host West Lincoln Thursday. They will host Charlotte Country Day in a nonconference match Monday before returning to SPC play against Lincolnton at home Tuesday.
