The volleyball teams from Hough and Lake Norman Charter were to play in conference tournament championship matches Wednesday night, after this edition’s press time.
Lake Norman Charter (22-0) was to meet North Lincoln in the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A Conference final, while Hough (23-3) was to settle its score with Lake Norman in the I-Meck 4A, after beating North Meck 3-0 for the third time this year. The Huskies and Wildcats split the regular season championship and the season series, and the winner of the I-Meck final would secure the league’s top state playoff bid.
The state playoffs begin Saturday.
