Bodner, a junior, advanced into the final with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Mooresville’s Maggie Seibert, and earned a spot at 4A West Regionals at South Meck High Friday and Saturday.
North Meck’s Jamie Michael also qualified for regionals in singles play by reaching the I-Meck semifinals, where she lost to Mullen 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
In doubles action, Lake Norman’s Constance Crisp and Sydney Rapier defeated Hough’s Morgan Marin and Riya Anand 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in the championship. But the tandem of Marin and Anand, which defeated Lake Norman’s Britta Hulbers and Daniella Dworschak 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinals, qualified for regionals. The Hough team of Allie Schutrum and Jessica Horn finished fifth in the I-Meck tournament and also made regionals.
Hough (11-3) entered the 4A dual team state playoffs Tuesday as the I-Meck’s No. 2 seed, but lost 5-1 to Grimsley.
