LNC golfers win SPC title, qualify for state championships
It was a big week for the Lake Norman Charter girls' golf team.
Hough’s Bodner repeats as I-Meck singles champ
Hough High tennis player Briana Bodner defeated Lake Norman’s Meagan Mullen 6-1, 6-1 this week in the final of the I-Meck Conference singles tournament to repeat as league champion.
Bennett to play softball at Queens
Hough High senior Gaylin Bennett is the school’s first softball player to commit to play college softball. Bennett will play at Queens University in Charlotte. She will sign her national letter of intent next month.
Eagle netters are 24-0
SouthLake Christian’s pursuit of a second straight volleyball state title has put the Eagles in position to make similar postseason noise this fall.

Titans end tough year
Hopewell’s volleyball team was in a rebuilding year this year, and the season came to an end in the IMeck Conference tournament with a 3-2 loss to Mooresville Monday.
Huskies, Wildcats showdown looming
The Hough soccer team posted an 8-2 win over West Charlotte Monday and remained near the top of the 4A state coaches poll. The Huskies (15-1-2) are currently ranked third as they enter Monday’s home match with I-Meck rival Lake Norman, the state’s No. 5 team.
Hopewell gives Lake Norman a run
The Hopewell soccer team played the best it has this year, according to coach Robb Bolar, in its 3-2 loss to Lake Norman last Thursday.
Davidson Day’s Albritton commits to VMI
Davidson Day senior Dorian Albritton has committed to play basketball for north Mecklenburg County native Duggar Baucom at Division I Virginia Military Institute.

A goal from Tanner Roberts 40 seconds into the second half and two more Husky goals within a 35-second span late helped Hough defeat visiting rival Hopewell 4-1 in I-Meck soccer Monday night.
