Wildcats take unbeaten SoCon record on the road
Davidson continued its romp through the Southern Conference basketball field this past week with wins over College of Charleston and The Citadel, completing the first half of the SoCon schedule with an 8-0 mark, the best league start for a Davidson team since the 2008-09 team started 13-0 and finished 18-2.

Vikings roll past Mooresville, lead I-Meck standings
MOORESVILLE — Though his team may not know the weight his comments carry, in regards to the North Meck High basketball teams of the past, Duane Lewis paid his Vikings a high compliment Tuesday night, after a 67-51 win at Mooresville.
Cats enter heart of SoCon slate
Of the 17 games remaining on Da5vidson College's basketball schedule, 16 are within the Southern Conference, including Thursday's game at UNC Greensboro and Saturday's home game against Georgia Southern, which has been moved to 3 p.m.
That means it's crunch time for a Wildcats team that is 8-4 overall (2-0 SoCon) through last Thursday's 75-70 win over Penn.
Huskies top Titans on the mat

While his search continues for a consistent No. 2 scorer behind all-star point guard Shivaughn Wiggins, North Meck High basketball coach Duane Lewis will settle for teamwork, sound defense and victories.
Bradley picks UNCA
Goalkeeper Jaron Bradley of Hough High has committed to play college soccer at UNC Asheville, Huskies coach David Smith said this week.
Bradley posted four shutouts this fall, in his first season at Hough after attending North Meck. Bradley earned all-state recognition from the state's soccer coaches, along with teammates Santiago Patino and Nathaniel Goodwin.
Bradley is the third Hough boys' soccer player to commit to a Division I college, joining Patino and Goodwin, who are bound for UNC Wilmington.

State's realignment draft takes Mooresville away, too
The North Carolina High School Athletic Association's official first draft of conference realignment for school years 2013-2017 was released last Friday, and the most notable change with regard to local 4A schools Hopewell, Hough and North Meck was the potential separation from current I-Meck member Mooresville.
