Honor code focus for DDS assembly

Written by

During a ceremony central to the core values at Davidson Day School, students assembled last week to review and sign the honor code. After a presentation on the significance of the honor code by Bonnie Cotter, DDS head of school, students in grades 5-12 had the opportunity to sign the pledge.

The honor code is part of the school’s overall program to help students learn to make the right choices and take responsibility for their own actions.

Students in grades 7-12 violating the code must explain their actions to a council of fellow students. Those selected to serve on the Honor Council for the year are Wolfie Obrecht, Ryan Titus, Claire Oosterhouse, Tori Whaley, Hannah Wolter, Matt Barclay, Hudson Harris, James Rees, Maxlyn Foster, Jonathan Pace, Emmy Roberts, Maddy Clark, Jason Couldter, Ciara Murphy, Richard Brown, Ryan Layman and Carolina Sumner.

Younger students at DDS will learn about the honor code through classes and special activities planned during the year.
