Emma Casso Tovar

Mrs. Tovar, 93, of Churchill Assisted Living in Mooresville died Sunday, June 2, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House. She was born Feb. 24, 1920, in El Paso, Texas, to the late Thomas and Adela Solis Casso. She taught English as a second language for 14 years and was a former owner of a flower shop.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Tovar of Cornelius; sons, Martin Tovar of California and Rick Tovar and wife, Pam, of Wisconsin; sister, Mary Lou Flores of California; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Toby Tovar, daughter, Yvonne McLaughlin; and son, Toby Tovar Jr.

Ewell Washington Hopper Jr.

Mr. Hopper, 88, of Charlotte died Sunday, June 2, at his residence. He was born July 21, 1924, in York, S.C., to late Ewell Washington and Maggie Paire Hopper. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy

He is survived by his wife, Marion Hopper; son, Douglas Hopper and wife, Debra, of Huntersville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Walter Wright, Sr.

Mr. Wright, 85, of Mooresville died Tuesday, June 4, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Farmville, Va., to the late Jack and Sarah Wood Wright. He was a retired mechanic after 40 years of service.

He is survived by his children, Barbara Duncan and husband, Bryant, Francis Covington, Patricia Dedrick and husband, Dennis, Walter Wright Jr., David Wright, Gary Wright and wife, Rose, Scott Wright and Dustin Wright; sisters, Della Howell, Mary Minnick, Peggy Fair and Blanche James; brothers, Robert Wright and Charles Wright; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Sarah Sloan; and brothers, Joe Wright, Horace Wright and Otis Wright.

Sara Hooker Blanchard Erickson

Mrs. Erickson, 87, of Davidson died Wednesday, June 5, at The Pines at Davidson. She was born July 5, 1925, in Niagra Falls, N.Y., to the late Ralph and Margaret Hooker Blanchard.

A graveside service was held Monday, June 10, at the Salisbury National Cemetery. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.

Diane Mayhew Day

Mrs. Day, 71, of Mooresville died Wednesday, June 5, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. She was born April 10, 1942, in Iredell County to the late Ford and Dessie Talbert Mayhew. She worked as a bank teller for more than 30 years. She was an active member of McKendree Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the UMC Women's Circle.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Day; children, Melissa Taylor and husband, Wayne, and Duncan Day and wife, Leslie; brothers, Ricky Mayhew and Grady Mayhew; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, Duncan Day Jr.

A funeral service was held Saturday, June 8, at McKendree Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Susan Heun officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Addie Flowers Vance

Mrs. Vance, 83, of Huntersville died Saturday, May 25, at her home in Washington, N.C. She was born March 27, 1930, in Darlington, S.C., to the late Edward and Juanita Odom Flowers. At age 14, she contracted polio, leaving her to face the rest of her life with a brace on one leg and dependent on crutches and wheelchairs. While raising two children, she taught Sunday school at Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Huntersville, where she was a longtime member.

Rose Virginia Ferger Grucza
Mrs. Grucza, 94, of Mooresville died Sunday, May 19, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. She was born April 28, 1919, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late Leo and Rose Maza Ferger. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville.
She is survived by her daughters, Marcia Beck and husband, Richard, of Mooresville and Margaret Warren and husband, Richard, of Fredericksburg, Va.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus Grucza.
A memorial mass was held Tuesday, May 28, at St. Therese Catholic Church. A luncheon for family and friends followed the service. Anthony Joseph Mariano
Mr. Mariano, 90, of Mooresville died Sunday, May 19, at his residence. He was born July 30, 1922, in St. Paul, Minn. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Arletta Mariano; sons, Michael Mariano, Patrick Mariano and wife, Laurie, Anthony Mariano Jr. and wife, Beverly, and Kurt Mariano; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

William Hugh Strider
Mr. Strider, 86, of Huntersville died Monday, May 20. He was born May 4, 1927, in Mecklenburg County to the late Joseph and Eunice Norkett Strider. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Strider; sister, Lois Hailey; stepsons, Brad Frasure and wife, Lori, and Dean Frasure; daughter, Vickie Ramsey; and six grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
A funeral service was held Thursday, May 23, in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Homesley officiating. Interment followed at the Huntersville First Baptist Church Cemetery. Hollis Eugene Reid
Mr. Reid, 92, of Locust, formerly of Cornelius, died Monday, May 20, at CMC Northeast Medical Center. He was born Oct. 11, 1920, in Davidson to the late William and Minnie Howard Reid. He was a lifetime member of the Cornelius Presbyterian Church. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force 1st Bombardment Division 94th Combat Bombardment Wing and the 351st Bombardment Group. He was a police officer in Cornelius in the 1950s.
He survived by his daughters, Sharyon Bumgarner of Cornelius and Denise Pender and husband, Henry, of Greensboro; brother, Vernon Robinette of Cornelius; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Lee Reid; brothers, Ralph, Robert, Harold and William Reid; and sisters, Eudell Wilson and Novem Darnell.

Bruce Angus Bailey
Mr. Bailey, 58, of Mount Mourne, formerly of Charlotte, died Monday, May 20, at his residence. He was born April 23, 1955, in Mecklenburg County to Helen Brown Bailey and the late Benjamin Bailey. He attended North Mecklenburg High School.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Catherine Bailey; stepson, Brian Perkins; and brother, Bryon Bailey.
A celebration of life was held Thursday, May 23, at James Funeral Home of Huntersville, which is serving the family.

Fred Eugene Brown
Mr. Brown, 82, of Mooresville died Monday, May 20, at his residence. He was born May 4, 1931, in Iredell County to the late Robert and Beulah Lipe Brown. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of The Bridge Church in Mooresville.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina Foskey and husband, Mickey; sisters, Dorcas Brotherton and Rachel Chatham; brother, Robert Brown Jr.; and three grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Brown; and brother, Homer Brown.

Ronald Horace Brown
Mr. Brown, 62, of Lincolnton, formerly of Huntersville, died Tuesday, May 21, at Kindred Health Care in Lincolnton. He was born July 12, 1950, in Iredell County to the late Joe and Juanita Williams Brown. He was manager of Cashion's Food Mart in Cornelius for 35 years and served on the Huntersville Police Reserves.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Brown; daughters, Annette Wilkes and husband, Andy, and Erin Castro, both of Lincolnton; brothers, Jim Brown of Texas and Joe Brown of Charlotte; and five grandchildren.

Rebecca Jean Sisco
Ms. Sisco, 27, of Mooresville died Tuesday, May 21, at her residence. She was born May 21, 1986, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and graduated from Lake Norman High School in 2004; received the Girl Scout Gold Award and was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her parents, James and Grace Sisco of Mooresville; grandmother, Margaret Sisco of Cocoa, Fla., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Jack and Jean Adams.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, at 1 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church in Mooresville.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.

Harry E. Powers
Mr. Powers, 80, of Mooresville died Thursday, May 23, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 21, 1932, in Mooresville to the late Lonnie and Clara Gregory Powers. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Burlington Industries after 47 years of service. He was a member of the Mooresville Masonic Lodge 496 and Mooresville Moose Lodge 2012. He was also a member of Prospect Presbyterian Church in Mooresville.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Josephine Powers; daughters, Rita Brown and Harriet Beaver and husband, Mike, all of Mooresville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Lawrence Preston Bates
Mr. Bates, 89, of Mooresville died on Thursday, May 23, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 5, 1924, in Hialeah, Fla., to the late Robert and Wreatha Bates. He was a veteran of World War II, seeing action in the South Pacific aboard the USS Wasp.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathleen Wheeler Coates Bates; brother, Michael Bates and wife, Jean, of Ocala, Fla.; children, Apryl Nugent and husband, Gene, of Miami, Fla., Perry Allen and wife, Mary, of Charlotte, Leslie Coates of West Palm Beach, Fla., Fred Coates and wife, Jean, of Mooresville, Cameron Coates and wife, Linda, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Paul Coates and wife, Jackie, of Greensboro; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Olga Allen.

Vera Mae Howell McAuley Stegall
Mrs. Stegall, 80, of Huntersville died Friday, May 24, at the Havens at Highland Creek. She was born Dec. 15, 1932, in Elkins, W.Va., to the late Ercle and Russie Wamsley Howell.
She was a member of the Huntersville Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder, was a member of the VFW in Croft and served on the North Mecklenburg CrimeStoppers Committee. She was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Huntersville as a mail carrier until her retirement.
She is survived by her children, Wayne McAuley and wife, Vicky, of Mooresville, Mike McAuley and wife, Pam, of Monroe, Steve McAuley and wife, Wanda, of Cornelius and Diane Grachek and husband, Tim, of Concord; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph McAuley and Edmund Stegall; brothers, Ercle, Joe and James Howell; and sister, Virginia Douglas.

Wilson Reid Whitlow

Mr. Whitlow, 89, of Huntersville died Saturday, May 11, at The Gardens at Taylor Glen. He was born Oct. 22, 1923, in Mecklenburg County to the late John and Pinkie Ferrell Whitlow. He graduated from Huntersville High School in 1942 and served in the Army Air Corps as a B-17 bomber radio operator during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 321 and Independence Hill Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer and Sunday school teacher for many years. He owned and operated Whitlow's Body Shop in Huntersville.

He is survived by his daughters, Judy Murphy of Charlotte and Margaret Howard of Birmingham, Ala.; brother, John Whitlow of Charlotte; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Whitlow; and brothers, Charles and Clarence Whitlow.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, May 14, at Independence Hill with the Rev. Todd Marlin officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lewandowski, 74, of Charlotte died Sunday, May 12.

She is survived by children, Michael Bradley and wife, Jacqueline, of Huntersville, Tim Bradley and wife, Anna, of Morganton, Jen Tarbet of Charlotte, Mark Lewandowski of Greensboro and Bill Bradley of Lake Hopatcong, N.J.; sister, Ann Marie Blake-Ward of Croton on the Hudson, N.Y. ; and nine grandchildren.

Frances Warfield Richards

Mrs. Richards, 95, of Charlotte died Sunday, May 12, at Summit Place in Mooresville. She was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Carolina, W.Va., to Joshua and Clarice Warfield. In the last 15 years of her career she was executive assistant to the treasurer of the United States Postal Service in Washington, D.C.

She is survived by daughters, Diana Kuninger and husband, Richard, of Smithville, Tex.; Mary Cobb and husband, Bill, of Davidson and Jane Miller and Husband, Tom, of Louisville, Ky.; stepson, Bob Richards and wife, Sandy, of Bridgeville, Del.; brother, Edwin Warfield of Lewisburg, W.Va.; sister, Lucille Vincent, of Columbus, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands Stanley Abruzzino and Theodore Richards; and son, Frank Abruzzno.

Charles L. Chapman

Mr. Chapman, 79, of Huntersville died Sunday, May 12, at his home. He was born Oct. 25, 1933, to the late David and Kate Chapman. He served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his sons, Lamar Chapman and wife, Traci, of Huntersville, and Nelson Chapman and wife, Deborah, of Cornelius; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jack Thurston Wilson

Mr. Wilson, 84, of Huntersville died Sunday, May 12. He was born Sept. 20, 1928, in Mecklenburg County to the late Robert and Roxie Wilson.

Clark Donnell Goodrum

Mr. Goodrum, 77 of Albemarle, formerly of Cornelius, died Tuesday, May 14, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. He was born Nov. 2, 1935, in northern Mecklenburg County to the late Horace and Sarah Caldwell Goodrum. Growing up, his entire extended family lived and farmed on land that was covered by Lake Norman. He served in the North Carolina Air National Guard. He was a long-time member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius and American Legion Post 321.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene, of Albemarle; brother, Thomas Goodrum of Cumming, Ga.; children, Lisa Bambach and husband, John, Alison Hendren and husband, Johnnie, and Wesley Goodrum and wife, Amy; step-children, Dean Barbee and wife, Karen, Paula Crisco and husband, Scott, and Todd Barbee and wife, Susanna; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Goodrum; and sister, Barbara Ann. The family would like to thank Dr. Ron Beamon and the staff at the Davidson Clinic for their long-time care.

Thomas Carden Ball

Mr. Ball, 51 of Huntersville died Monday, May 6, at Hunter Village Nursing Home in Huntersville. He was born Feb. 27, 1962, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Edward Hyde Ball and Rosina Bagley Ball.

He is survived his brother, John Ball. In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nina. A funeral service was to be held in Chicago. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Huntersville is assisting the family with local arrangements.

Sofia Elizabeth Tabaka Komarnycky

Mrs. Komarnycky, 86, of Cornelius died Tuesday, May 7, at Novant Health Charlotte. She was born June 30, 1926, in Ukraine to the late Alexander Tabaka and Caroline Tiermann Tabaka. Along with her husband, the late Bohdan Komarnycky, they owned and operated several resorts, a condo rental company and a furniture manufacturing company.

She is survived by her daughter, Marie Komarnycky; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass was held Wednesday, May 15, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Queensbury, N.Y. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Lake George, N.Y. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Huntersville is assisting the family with local arrangements.

Grace Lucero Hoag

Mrs. Hoag, 82, of Gastonia died Tuesday, May 7, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia. She was born May 6, 1930, in Denver, Colo., to the late Joseph and Theresa Lucero.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Gorham and husband, Richard, of Huntersville. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hoag.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Orondaga Hill, N.Y. James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.

Beverly Cross Bradford

Mrs. Bradford, 86, of Huntersville died Wednesday, May 8, with family by her side at The Pines at Davidson. She was born in Charlotte to the late Walter and Clara Smith Cross. Along with her husband, she had been co-owner of Hiawassee Dairy Farms and co-owner and bookkeeper for family businesses 3B Hardware in Huntersville and Bradford Properties of Huntersville.

In 1958, she was named Woman of the Year by the Ramah Home Demonstration Club where, under her leadership as president, she founded the Mothers' March on Polio in 1957. She led fellow members in fund-raising drives for the American Heart Association, Cancer Crusade and the Christmas Seal sales to fight tuberculosis. She was president of the Mecklenburg Farm Bureau Women and was a long-time member of Ramah Presbyterian Church, where she taught children's Sunday school, served in the Women's Circle and was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts

She is survived by her children, Cecil Bradford III and wife, Cynthia, of Huntersville, Beverly Woods and husband, Ben, of Huntersville, Smith Bradford and wife, Cindy, of Hopewell, Va., and Melanie Frear and husband, Bob, of North Redington Beach, Fla.; brother, Walter Cross of Davidson; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Cecil Bradford Jr.; grandson, Robert Frear; and sister, Wanda Gaston. A special thanks to all the staff of The Pines at Davidson and Hospice of Lake Norman for their compassion and care of Mrs. Bradford and family.

Bertha Osborne Ballard

Mrs. Ballard, 85, of Davidson died Friday, May 10, at the Novant Health Huntersville. She was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Mecklenburg County to the late William and Elvetta Arnette Osborne. She was a life member of the Long Creek Chapter 151 Order of Eastern Star and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and the Homemakers Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ballard; son, Jeff Ballard of Davidson; sister, Ellis Kelly of Mooresville; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Steve Ballard; sisters, Lucille Stutts, Margaret Purser, Madelene Kennerly, Willie Mae Meadows and Lena Swaim; and brother, Billie Osborne. Zion United Methodist Church, where she was employed as the financial secretary for more than 17 years. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joe Bost; children, Kirk Bost of Cornelius, Beth Dove and husband, Steve, of Huntersville, and Angela Fletcher of Cornelius; sister, Joan Bustle of Cornelius; and six grandchildren. Annie Bumgarner Hastings Tillman

Mrs. Tillman, 87, of Huntersville died Monday, April 8, at The Huntersville Oaks. She was born Nov. 18, 1925, in Mecklenburg County to the late William and Kate Bumgarner.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Brenda McKinney of Aiken, Janet Morgan of Georgia, Jerry Tillman of Rock Hill and Rick Tillman of Lincolnton; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, William Hastings and Deal Tillman; and son, Spencer Hastings. The family would like to thank the staff of The Huntersville Oaks for their care, as well as the Bethel Presbyterian Church family.

A funeral service was held Friday, April 12, at Bethel Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bill Cain officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Sandra Leigh Sparks

Mrs. Sparks, 63, of Mooresville died Monday, April 8, at her residence. She was born Dec. 13, 1949, in Rutherfordton to the late Charles and Callie Mae Deck Sparks. She was a guidance counselor for more than 30 years. She was a member of Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church in Mooresville.

She is survived by her son, Keith Dycus and wife, Rachel; former husband, Mike Dycus; and one grandchild.

Robert Glenn McLean

Mr. McLean, 91, of Mooresville died Monday, April 8, in Florida. He was born May 19, 1921, in Mooresville to the late Fred and Velma Sherrill McLean. He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was retired from TransCo Gas Pipeline. He was a member of The Bridge Church of the Nazarene in Mooresville.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McLean; children, Dale Saterfield, Beverly Killian and Scott McLean; sisters, Minnie Gray and Joyce Anthony; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Robert McLean II; sisters, Virginia Lambert and Ethel Ellenburg; and brothers, John McLean and Bill McLean.

A funeral service was held Friday, April 12, in the chapel at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom McCrea officiating. Burial was held Monday, April 15, at Salisbury National Cemetery. Edward Ruttkamp

Mr. Ruttkamp died Wednesday, April 10, with his family at his side. He was very active in the Huntersville community and with his sons' athletic pursuits.  He was owner and operator of R&R Landscaping.

He is survived by his wife, Jillian; sons Mackenzie, Zackary and Jackson of Huntersville; and siblings, Elaine, Nancy, Louise, Cindy, Billy, Ricky and Robert. He was preceded in death by his parents William Ruttkamp and Marylou Ruttkamp-Herold; and stepfather, Richard Herold.

William Francis Dixon

Mr. Dixon, 81, of Cornelius died Thursday, April 11, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House of Huntersville. He was born June 13, 1931, in Worchester, Mass., to the late William and Madeline Packard Dixon.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Dixon; daughter, Kathleen Braun of Cary; sons, Robert Dixon of Lakeland, Fla., and Bill Dixon and wife, Rose, of Mooresville; brother, Sam Dixon of Escondido, Calif.; sister, Nancy Mordacz of The Villages, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

Timmie Dean Williams

Mr. Williams, 49, of Mooresville died Thursday, April 11, at Genesis Eldercare in Mooresville. He was born Oct. 1, 1963, in Mooresville to the late Henry and Helen Whitley Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Daniel Williams; stepdaughter, Rosie Stewart and husband, Harold; brothers, David Neilson, Jackie Neilson and Robert Neilson; sisters, Darlene Moore and Debbie Hayes; and half brother, Henry Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Lucy Ball, Betty Ingle, Nancy Holland, Mary Helen Neilson, Cindy Lee Williams; and brothers, Herman Neilson and Ricky Neilson.

Jodie L. Swift-Christian

Mrs. Swift-Christian, 51, of Huntersville died Wednesday, April 3. She was born April 1, 1962, in Binghamton, N.Y., to Rodger and Nancy Scherer Christian.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughters, Claire and Caoimhe; sons, Ruari and Conor; and brothers, Rodger Christian and Rick Christian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ciaran Swift, in 2004, and her grandparents.

Lynne C. Whitley

Mrs. Whitley, 70, of Mooresville, died Sunday, March 31, at Carolinas Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on June 21, 1942, in Spartanburg, S.C., to the late Benjamin Creighton Jr. and Virginia Caldwell.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Whitley Jr.; sons, Roy Whitley III and wife, Robin, of Advance, Michael Whitley and wife, Catherine, of Advance and Matthew Whitley and wife, Lori, of Clemmons; daughter, Angela Turner and husband, Bran, of Florence, S.C., sister, Dale White of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; brother, Ben Creighton of Charlotte; and 10 grandchildren.

Charles Smiley Roberts

Mr. Roberts, 85, of Mooresville died Sunday, March 31, at the Universal Healthcare in Concord. He was born June 14, 1927, in Greenville, S.C., to the late Carl and Mary Shirley Roberts. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked at the Mooresville Municipal Golf Course and was a member of the Mooresville Civiitan Club and the Masons. He was also a member of Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louise Roberts; children, Ricky Roberts and wife, Darlene, of Mooresville and Cathy Martin and husband, Howard, of Harrisburg; sister, Pauline Galloway; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Annie Galloway; and brothers, Jack Roberts, Theo Roberts and Theoron Roberts.

Tamrya Marie Shields Pagliaro

Mrs. Pagliaro, 54, of Huntersville died Monday, April 1, at her residence. She was born Feb. 18, 1959, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc., to the late Frederick and Phyllis Lapp Shields. She was a flight attendant for Delta Airlines and a member of St. Mark Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Pagliaro; daughter, Brittany Pagliaro, a student at North Carolina State University; son, Daniel Pagliaro of the home; and sisters, Taryn Smith and Kristin Campbell of Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Shields.

Patricia Bateman Deese

Mrs. Deese, 59, of Mooresville died Monday, April 1, at her residence. She was born Sept. 17, 1953, in Mooresville to the late Clarence and Florine Brown Bateman.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Rickard Deese; children, Robin Baker and husband, John, and Jonathan Deese and wife, Sheena, all of Mooresville; sister, Kay Helton of Mooresville; and five grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Dennis Bateman.

Mrs. Klenk, 66, of Davidson died Monday, April 1, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House. She was born Jan. 15, 1947, in Chicago to Colleen Linblad and the late Thomas Linblad.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Zwilling and husband, Stephen, of Mooresville, Lynn Farmer and husband, Don, of Huntersville, Erin Rogers and husband, Ken, of Huntersville; brother, Tom Lindblad Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Klenk.

Theron Dale Holcombe

The Rev. Holcombe, 89, of Mooresville died Wednesday, April 3, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Candler, N.C., to the late Theron and Mary Marlow Holcombe. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a retired United Methodist minister who served at 15 churches throughout his ministry career.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise Holcombe; daughters, Mary Holcombe and Nancy Miller and husband, Gary; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Richard Holcombe.

A funeral service was held Sunday, April 7, at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jamie Hamrick officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Glen Harold Passage

Mr. Passage, 61, of Cornelius died Wednesday, April 3, at his home. He was born March 26, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Glen Passage and the late Arlis Kruger Passage. He was a captain for Air Wisconsin Airlines.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Passage; sons, Christopher and Robert Passage; sister, Susan Scherrer and husband, Butch; and stepsons, Joshua, Jonathan and Brock Glover.

Robert Franklin Isenhour

Mr. Isenhour, 89, of Cornelius died Thursday, April 4, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Bessemer City to the late Thomas and Mary Best Isenhour. He was a veteran of World War II with the U.S. Army, where he served with the 1st Division of the 16th Infantry at Normandy Beach during D-Day. He was a jeweler, watch maker and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Charlotte.

He is survived by his daughters, Joy Isenhour of Cornelius, Gay Griffin and husband, Jim, of Charlotte and Robbie Isenhour of Mooresville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Isenhour; brothers, Clarence, Clyde and Gene Isenhour; and sisters, Della Lipford and Edna Isenhour.

A funeral service was held Monday, April 8, at James Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Hobson officiating. Burial followed at Sharon Memorial Park. James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
