Thomas Carden Ball
Mr. Ball, 51 of Huntersville died Monday, May 6, at Hunter Village Nursing Home in Huntersville. He was born Feb. 27, 1962, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Edward Hyde Ball and Rosina Bagley Ball.
He is survived his brother, John Ball. In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nina. A funeral service was to be held in Chicago. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Huntersville is assisting the family with local arrangements.
Sofia Elizabeth Tabaka Komarnycky
Mrs. Komarnycky, 86, of Cornelius died Tuesday, May 7, at Novant Health Charlotte. She was born June 30, 1926, in Ukraine to the late Alexander Tabaka and Caroline Tiermann Tabaka. Along with her husband, the late Bohdan Komarnycky, they owned and operated several resorts, a condo rental company and a furniture manufacturing company.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie Komarnycky; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held Wednesday, May 15, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Queensbury, N.Y. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Lake George, N.Y. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Huntersville is assisting the family with local arrangements.
Grace Lucero Hoag
Mrs. Hoag, 82, of Gastonia died Tuesday, May 7, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia. She was born May 6, 1930, in Denver, Colo., to the late Joseph and Theresa Lucero.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Gorham and husband, Richard, of Huntersville. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hoag.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Orondaga Hill, N.Y. James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
Beverly Cross Bradford
Mrs. Bradford, 86, of Huntersville died Wednesday, May 8, with family by her side at The Pines at Davidson. She was born in Charlotte to the late Walter and Clara Smith Cross. Along with her husband, she had been co-owner of Hiawassee Dairy Farms and co-owner and bookkeeper for family businesses 3B Hardware in Huntersville and Bradford Properties of Huntersville.
In 1958, she was named Woman of the Year by the Ramah Home Demonstration Club where, under her leadership as president, she founded the Mothers' March on Polio in 1957. She led fellow members in fund-raising drives for the American Heart Association, Cancer Crusade and the Christmas Seal sales to fight tuberculosis. She was president of the Mecklenburg Farm Bureau Women and was a long-time member of Ramah Presbyterian Church, where she taught children's Sunday school, served in the Women's Circle and was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts
She is survived by her children, Cecil Bradford III and wife, Cynthia, of Huntersville, Beverly Woods and husband, Ben, of Huntersville, Smith Bradford and wife, Cindy, of Hopewell, Va., and Melanie Frear and husband, Bob, of North Redington Beach, Fla.; brother, Walter Cross of Davidson; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Cecil Bradford Jr.; grandson, Robert Frear; and sister, Wanda Gaston. A special thanks to all the staff of The Pines at Davidson and Hospice of Lake Norman for their compassion and care of Mrs. Bradford and family.

Bertha Osborne Ballard
Mrs. Ballard, 85, of Davidson died Friday, May 10, at the Novant Health Huntersville. She was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Mecklenburg County to the late William and Elvetta Arnette Osborne. She was a life member of the Long Creek Chapter 151 Order of Eastern Star and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and the Homemakers Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ballard; son, Jeff Ballard of Davidson; sister, Ellis Kelly of Mooresville; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Steve Ballard; sisters, Lucille Stutts, Margaret Purser, Madelene Kennerly, Willie Mae Meadows and Lena Swaim; and brother, Billie Osborne. The family would like to express its thanks to the staff and caregivers at Olde Knox Commons and to neighbor Kim Little.

Mr. Ropp, 70, of Cornelius died Saturday, May 11, at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House of Huntersville. He was born in Bloomington, Ill., to Lidabelle Dever Ropp and the late Cornelius Ropp.
He is survived by his wife, Harolyn Ropp of Cornelius; daughter, Christina Dowell and husband, Robert, of Mebane; a son, Douglas Ropp of Charlotte; sister, Cornelia Cramer of Gibson City, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Skipper, 80, of Stanley died Saturday April 20, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House of Huntersville. He was born Dec. 17, 1932, in Charlotte to the late Daniel and Bessie Atkinson Skipper. He served in the U.S. Navy as a diver and was manager of the East Lincoln Race Track for 18 years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Skipper; sons, Shane and wife, Gena, of Davidson and Ralph Jr. and wife, Katie, of Stanley; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Mr. Beckett, 83, of Mooresville died Monday, April 22, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 24, 1929, in Magazine, Ark., to the late John and Myrtle Chapman Beckett. He was a member of The Word of Hope Full Gospel Church in Mooresville.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lona Beckett; children, Karen Farmer and husband, Gary, Del Walters and wife, Sonja, Debby Friddle and husband, Dub, Gary Beckett, Norma Hopple and husband, John, Adale Tepper and husband, Mark, David Beckett and James Beckett and wife, Lynn; brother, Floyd Beckett; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Inthisone, 32, of Huntersville died Monday, April 22, at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House of Huntersville. She was born July 9, 1980, in Luanprabang, Laos.
She is survived by her mother Savivanh Phothitay; sons, Tipasone, Jitakone, Derek, Tiger and Dragon; siblings, Khempheth, Konesavanh, Khanthaly, Philakone and Rambo. She was preceded in death by her father, Lae Phothitay.

Mrs. Alexander, 89, of Mooresville died Monday, April 22, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. She was born July 17, 1923, in Iredell County to the late Foster and Anna Morrow Perkins. She was a charter member and active at Peninsula Baptist Church in Mooresville.
She is survived by her children, Katy Smith and husband, Jerry, and Hollis Alexander and wife, Deb; sister, Marcile Sansbury; brother, Benjamin Perkins; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Alexander; and daughter, Ann Stowe.

Mrs. Haywald, 90, of Huntersville died Tuesday, April 23, at Olde Knox Commons in Huntersville. She was born Jan. 31, 1923, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Emory and Madge Becker Meade. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
She is survived by her daughters, Jill Jubelt and husband, Daniel, of Madison, Ga., and Joy House and husband, Michael, of Charlotte.

Mrs. Wooten of Cornelius died Thursday, April 11. She lived most of her adult life around Lake Norman.

Mrs. Smith, 49, of Kannapolis died Saturday, April 6, at the Cabarrus County Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 25, 1963, in Charlotte.
She is survived by her parents, William and Iris Malcom Abernathy of Davidson; daughters, Denise Burgess of Trenton and Shannon Burgess of New Bern; sisters, Rebecca Herron of Davidson and Bonnie Hawks of Concord; brother, William Abernathy Jr. of Iron Station; and two grandchildren.

Tommie Ann Mundy Bost
Mrs. Bost, 71, of Cornelius died Sunday, April 7, at The Huntersville Oaks surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born May 29, 1941, in Mooresville to the late Rueben and Zella Mae Wagner Mundy. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she was employed as the financial secretary for more than 17 years. She was also a faithful member of the Don Bridger Sunday School Class and Mollie Sherrill United Methodist Women's Circle.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joe Bost; children, Kirk Bost of Cornelius, Beth Dove and husband, Steve, of Huntersville, and Angela Fletcher of Cornelius; sister, Joan Bustle of Cornelius; and six grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Estalene Sherrill. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and hospice for the care she received while at The Huntersville Oaks.

Mrs. Ferrell, 95, of Huntersville died Sunday, April 7, at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. She was born April 11, 1917, in Charlotte to the late William and Martha Yost Frame.
She is survived by her sons, Evans Ferrell of Indian Trail and Robert Ferrell and wife, Cortha, of Charlotte; daughter, Audrey Spencer and husband, Samuel, of Huntersville; brother, David Frame; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Mr. McLean, 91, of Mooresville died Monday, April 8, in Florida. He was born May 19, 1921, in Mooresville to the late Fred and Velma Sherrill McLean. Mr. Roberts, 85, of Mooresville died Sunday, March 31, at the Universal Healthcare in Concord. He was born June 14, 1927, in Greenville, S.C., to the late Carl and Mary Shirley Roberts. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked at the Mooresville Municipal Golf Course and was a member of the Mooresville Civiitan Club and the Masons. He was also a member of Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louise Roberts; children, Ricky Roberts and wife, Darlene, of Mooresville and Cathy Martin and husband, Howard, of Harrisburg; sister, Pauline Galloway; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The Rev. Holcombe, 89, of Mooresville died Wednesday, April 3, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Candler, N.C., to the late Theron and Mary Marlow Holcombe. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a retired United Methodist minister who served at 15 churches throughout his ministry career.

Robert Franklin Isenhour
Mr. Isenhour, 89, of Cornelius died Thursday, April 4, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Bessemer City to the late Thomas and Mary Best Isenhour. He was a veteran of World War II with the U.S. Army, where he served with the 1st Division of the 16th Infantry at Normandy Beach during D-Day. He was a jeweler, watch maker and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Charlotte.
He is survived by his daughters, Joy Isenhour of Cornelius, Gay Griffin and husband, Jim, of Charlotte and Robbie Isenhour of Mooresville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Richard Cargill Cole
Dr. Cole, 86, of Davidson died Saturday, March 23, at his residence at The Pines. He was born April 16, 1926, in Kansas City, Kan., to Horace and Iris Cargill Cole. He served in as a cryptographer in the headquarters of the First Tactical Air Force during the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns and in the headquarters of the Twelfth Tactical Air Command during the German occupation.
His career in higher education spanned 40 years, including serving as professor of English at Davidson College from 1961 to 1993. An authority on 18th Century British literature and culture, he published six books and numerous articles in professional journals. He sang tenor in the choir of the Davidson College Presbyterian Church for 30 years and, as a classical pianist, gave numerous recitals and played regularly for Vespers at The Pines.
He is survived by his daughter, Celia Shaw and husband, Robert, of Westminster, Md.; son, Paul Cole and wife, Laura, of Chapel Hill; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Florence.

Mrs. Park, 49, of Davidson died Monday, March 24, at The Huntersville Oaks surrounded by her husband and close friends. She was born Aug. 20, 1963, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Hal and Ursula Knight. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Gregory Park; brothers, J. Frank Knight and Neal Knight, both of Salt Lake City; sister, Crystal Erickson, also of Salt Lake City, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Kaden Little; sister, Jaida Little; paternal grandparents, Gordon and Beatrice Little of Huntersville; maternal grandmother, Donna Terribile of Millersville Md.; paternal great-grandmother, Sylvia Brown; and maternal great-grandmother, Evelyn Johnson. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles Terribile.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, April 2, in the chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Huntersville is serving the family.
Joseph J. Kaestner
Mr. Kaestner, 89, of Huntersville Friday, March 29, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House of Huntersville. He was born April 8, 1923, in Norwalk, Ct.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Kaestner; sons, Tom and wife, Karen, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Bob and wife, Susan, and Joe Kaestner Jr. and wife, Sharon, all of Charlotte; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were to be held in Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Charlotte, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204. James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.

Mrs. Edwards, 52, of Davidson died Saturday, March 16, at her home. She was born Dec. 23, 1960, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Frances Smith and the late Don Smith. She was a project manager at Wells Fargo in Charlotte.
