Girl Scouts’ collect food on Oct. 1

Written by

More than 500 girls who are members of Girl Scout troops in Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson will collect canned foods throughout the area for Loaves & Fishes on Saturday, Oct. 1. The girls will go door-to-door through neighborhoods in the “A Can if You Can” drive to help feed the hungry in the community. Residents may also drop off food at the Ada Jenkins Center at 212 Gamble St. in Davidson, between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. the day of the drive.

Food collected will be used to fill the Loaves & Fishes food pantries at the Ada Jenkins Center and Huntersville United Methodist Church. The girls are led by Belinda West, Service Unit Manager for the Girl Scouts Hornets’ Nest Council.
