Grill candidates at BBQ and forum

Cornelius residents are invited to attend a candidate forum and old-fashioned barbecue at Cornelius Town Hall on Thursday, Oct. 13. The doors for the forum and barbecue will open at 11:30 a.m. The special event features a patriotic sing-along, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and a presentation of colors by American Legion Post 86.

All six candidates for the Cornelius Town Board of Commissioners have been invited to attend the event is sponsored by Hyde Park Storage Suites, Lake Norman Realty, Payroll Plus, Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Camp Wagging Tails and Cornelius Today and BusinessToday.

All sponsorship proceeds will benefit the Cornelius Veterans Monument. The Rev. Mike Bailey, senior pastor at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, will serve as moderator. The suggested donation for the barbecue lunch is $7.
