‘Aloha Cup’ race to benefit Habitat

A new way to stand up and help those who need housing assistance will debut Saturday, Oct. 8 on Lake Norman.

The first “Aloha Cup” to benefit Our Towns Habitat for Humanity will get under way at 10 a.m. at Vinnie’s on the Lake in Mooresville. Vinnie’s is on Williamson Road off I-77 Exit 33.

Sponsored by My Aloha! Paddle Sports and Fitness, the Aloha Cup will feature paddle board races on the lake until 3 p.m.

In addition to the paddle board competition, events will include paddle board demonstrations, on-the-board fitness and yoga exhibits, various retails booths and displays, music, food and other fun activities.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the region’s Habitat for Humanity program.
