The program will be presented by Edie Johnson, organist and music associate at Church Street United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Tenn.
The concert will feature music appropriate to the Halloween season ranging from Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor to a new work that depicts a day in the life of a tiger, El Tigre, by Pamela Decker.
The hour-long program will also feature works by Dietrich Buxtehude, Maurice Dufufle, a Jig for the Feet by William Albright and a selection of other beastly surprises.
Child care will be provided during the performance at the church, 233 South Main St.
Also sponsored by DUMC, a blessing of the animals will be held Sunday, Oct. 23, on the Davidson Town Green. The program will last from 2 to 4 p.m.
Those interested in taking part are invited to bring their animals for a blessing provided by the Rev. Jeff Hassel and other pastors from the community. The Great Dane Rescue organization will also be on site with animals available for adoption.
