Senior Center holds Harvest Fair

Written by

North Mecklenburg Senior Center’s Harvest Fair will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The River Church in Cornelius. The event will feature garage sale and farmers’ market vendors, craft, bake sale, free food and a raffle for a 51-inch TV. Proceeds will benefit the senior center.

“We have an exciting lineup of entertainment and events scheduled to serve the hundreds of visitors we expect to see.” says North Mecklenburg Senior Center Director Joanne Ahern. “This fair should be a wonderful way to celebrate the fall season.”

In addition, the Lions Club Vision Van will be on location to provide visual screenings. For those waiting to have their vision checked, massage therapist Sheila Alexander of the Pines at Davidson will be offering 15-minute chair massages for $10, which will be donated to the senior center.

Shad’s Landing is providing hamburgers, hot dogs and rolls, which will be grilled by the Cornelius Police Department and sold for $5 per plate. The 51-inch flat screen Samsung TV has been donated by HH Gregg in Mooresville and ReMax Executive Realty in Cornelius. Raffle tickets cost $5 each or $20 for a book of five.

The River Church is at 18731 W. Catawba Ave. in Cornelius. For more information about the fair call 704-892-4041.
