With its Lake Norman office based in Cornelius, UFS served some 1,400 individuals and families last year in economic independence programs, clinical services and victims’ services. Just last week, UFS hired a victim’s advocate to work out of its office to serve the north Mecklenburg area.
The full-time position was created and funded through a cooperative effort by by the towns of Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville, Mecklenburg County and United Family Services. Proceeds from the Cruise For Change will help provide ongoing support for all these services.
The ticket includes the cruise, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a one-hour open bar, dancing and silent auction. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each for a chance to win an iPad. Cruise For Change sponsors include Presbyterian Hospital, Randy Marion Auto Group, People’s Bank, Lake Norman Currents, Lake Norman Realty, Beth Carter Law and the Lake Norman Citizen.
