Wine Spectacular tickets available

Written by

Since the Rotary Club of Lake Norman-Huntersville began holding its annual Wine Spectacular 13 years ago, it has contributed more than $150,000 to local charities from proceeds from the event including the Lake Norman Free clinic, Hope House of Huntersville, the USO and Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign.

Back for its 14th year on Saturday, Oct. 1, the Wine Spectacular will be held at a new venue, Havana Banquet & Ballroom at the former Palace Theater in Kenton Place. As usual, the event will feature fine wines, a live and silent auction and the champagne-diamond reverse raffle. New to the event this year will be a “man cave” offering beverages and cigars.

Wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to taste and purchase many fine wines handselected by George Erdle, noted wine editor and connoisseur. The main event of the evening will be the live auction featuring items that range from golf packages from area courses, use of vacation homes and trips, salon and spa services, autographed sports memorabilia, certificates from various restaurants and businesses in the Lake Norman area and more.

Tickets cost $75 per person and are available at Black Lion in the Northcross Shopping Center in Huntersville or online at www.lakenormanrotary.org/WineSpec2011/buy_your_tickets.htm. For more information about the event or sponsorship information, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
