Saturday night fever in the park

Written by

Break out the big hair, bellbottoms and balloon-sleeve shirts for ’70s Night in the Park, presented by MI-Connection, on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Bailey Road Park. The Throwback Band will perform favorite funk, disco and pop songs of the hip ‘70s. It is the last of this year’s Summer Concerts in the Park series offered by Cornelius PARC, and a special fireworks show will immediately follow the performance.

Gates will open at 7 p.m. for this free family concert, with children’s activities and concessions by Bruster’s Ice Cream, Nathan’s Hot Dogs and Heart 2 Heart Bakery & Cafe. Free parking is available at the park and at Bailey Middle School. Coolers are allowed, but glass bottles, alcohol, pets or open flames are not permitted.

In addition to presenting sponsor MI-Connection, the concert is made possible by concert series gold sponsor Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram; and silver sponsors Aquesta Bank, Lake Norman Citizen, The McIntosh Law Firm, Cornelius Today, Climate Control Systems of the Carolinas and ElectriCities. For more information, call 704-892-6031, ext. 160, or visit www.corneliuspr.org.
