Dog owners get their day

Written by

K9-BootCamp and Carolinas Veterinary Care Clinic will hold a celebration of AKC Responsible Dog Ownership (RDO) Day Saturday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Carolinas Veterinary Clare Clinic in the Northcross Village Shopping Center. The goal of this initiative, supported by the American Kennel Club, is to educate first time dog owners about responsibilities of dog ownership and help current owners enhance their relationships with their pets.

Activities include free Canine Good Citizen Testing by K9-BootCamp, free doggie ice cream for the first 25 dogs courtesy of K9-BootCamp, nail trims for $5, vendors, rescues, obedience games and demonstrations, dog training advice from a professional certified dog behavior trainer and more.

AKC RDO Day is part of a month-long celebration that involves hundreds of organizations across the country holding free events for dog owners. To learn more about AKC RDO Day, visit www.akc.org.
