Wine, Food Fest returns Oct. 22

Written by

The Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival and the North Mecklenburg Rotary will join forces for the second annual event on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Kenton Place in Cornelius. The festival will again feature the Wine Reservoir for wine tastings and Restaurant Galley where local restaurants will serve individual portions. New this year will be live music and a small area for local micro brews.

“I’m pleased to announce that we’re partnering with the North Mecklenburg Rotary for this year’s event,” says V. Tom Gardner. Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival creator and chairman of the board. “By teaming up with an organization that has such a large and active membership, I have no doubt that this year we’ll be able to do even more for our local charities.”

Last year’s event brought together four major sponsors, six eateries, a dozen merchants, and 13 wineries serving more than 60 wines. More than 1,100 attended resulting in more than 750 pounds of food donated to local charities.

“Last year’s event was good, but this year’s will be even better,” says Ken McGrath of the North Mecklenburg Rotary Club. “We each bring our own unique strengths to this partnership that will strengthen the entire event, with our manpower and business connections and the festival’s experience, this year’s event will be an outstanding success.”

Prospective attendees, as well as vendors, restaurants and sponsors can find the latest information about this festival at www.lakenormanwineandfoodfestival.org. The Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded to benefit charities in the Lake Norman area.
