Brilhante, the son of Guy and Veronica Brilhante, was presented with a $4,000 scholarship to be used toward college tuition and expenses. Brilhante will be freshman this fall at UNC Wilmington.
Brilhante has been active in Stewards of the Game and school-based athletic programs for years. “Beau is a natural leader acting as student council president for three years and captain of his basketball, baseball and football teams during his high school tenure,” says Casey Fitzsimons, managing director of Stewards, of the Game. “He has a very magnetic personality that others are drawn to and he uses that ability to share his faith and lead by example.”
Brilhante played six seasons of baseball in the SOTG program, earning all-star recognition three times, and played one year of basketball. At Lake Norman Charter, Brilhante earned the “Top Senior” award recognizing well-rounded students.
Stewards of the Game is a Christian faith-based sports league specializing in baseball and basketball. The league is recognized for local and international outreach programs and its success in teaching life lessons and good sportsmanship.
