Mosiac Church is hosting a teacher supply drive through Monday, Aug. 15, to collect items to be distributed to teachers at North Meck. Donation bins are set up at the church or items can be dropped off at the church office, 11925 Sam Roper Drive, Suite D, in Charlotte.
All classroom-related items will be accepted and suggested donations include red, blue and black pens, pencils, correction fluid, markers, tissues, whiteboard markers, note pads, hand sanitizer and more.
In addition to assisting the teachers, Mosaic is also planning a “Meal Pack Ministry” during the year for students at North Meck. The school has a large number of students who receive assistance to help pay for school lunches, but on the weekends, students and their families often need food.
To help students in need, the backpack meal ministry will send backpacks filled with food items home with designated students each Friday. The program is designed to provide students and their families with nutritional food over the weekend.
Students will return the backpacks to the school on Monday where volunteers from Mosaic will collect them and re-fill them for the next weekend.
Anyone interested in contributing food items to the program, or making financial contributions to support the program, can find more information at www.mosaicchurch.tv.
