Queen’s Feast has 11 local restaurants

Written by

The semi-annual Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week will be held Friday, July 15, through Sunday, July 24. This summer’s promotion features 92 participating restaurants, including 11 in the Lake Norman area.

Charlotte Restaurant Week is a metro-area promotion during which upscale restaurants offer a prix fixe, three-course (or more) dinner for $30 per person, not including tax and gratuity. Along with Mecklenburg and Iredell counties; participating restaurants are located in Concord, Belmont, and Fort Mill, S.C.

“With 11 participating restaurants, the Lake Norman area has the largest contingentof restaurants outside of Charlotte,” says Bruce Hensley, president of Hensley Fontana Public Relations & Marketing, which owns and promotes the event. “It’s a great testament to the quantity and quality of fine dining establishments around lake Norman.”

New for this summer’s Queen’s Feast will be a “virtual” food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, conducted via www.CharlotteRestaurantWeek.com. Utilizing Second Harvest’s new GiveABit system, with just a few mouse clicks, donors can place their choice of food items or cash in an online shopping cart and make a donation to help fill the food bank’s shelves during the typically sparse summer months.

“We felt it would be an easy way for folks to help fight hunger while they’re making their dining plans for Charlotte Restaurant Week, without the need for collection barrels at the restaurants — which require a lot of the non-profit’s resources for delivery and pickup — or having to remember to bring a food donation to dinner,” says Hensley. “When visiting the Website to check out menus and make reservations, diners can also participate in the food drive.”

Some Queen’s Feast restaurants will extend an exclusive offer to AAA members via the AAA Show Your Card & Save program. Diners presenting a current AAA membership card while dining in those restaurants during Queen’s Feast will have the opportunity to purchase a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant for $25. The gift certificate will not be redeemable during Queen’s Feast, and other restrictions may apply. A list of restaurants participating in the AAA Show Your Card & Save offer is available on the program’s Web site.

Participating Lake Norman-area restaurants are 131 Main, Alton’s Kitchen & Cocktails and Choplin’s in Cornelius; Dressler’s, Kabuto Japanese Steakhouse, Mickey & Mooch and Red Rocks Cafe in Huntersville; Epic Chophouse and The Prickly Pear in Mooresville; Firebirds Wood Fired Grill at Northlake Mall; and Flatiron Kitchen and Taphouse in Davidson.

Reservations are recommended, and reservation links and contact information for all participating restaurants are available at www.CharlotteRestaurantWeek.com.
