Nicole Miller of Huntersville is one of two 2011 VSA apprentices selected to take part in the Williamstown Theatre Festival.
VSA is an international organization focusing on arts and disability. It was founded more than 35 years ago with the goal of providing arts and education opportunities for people living with disabilities while increasing access to the arts for everyone.
Miller, an amputee, is a 2010 graduate of UNC Charlotte, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in theatre and psychology. She has been involved in various aspects of theater since she was a young girl and has been the stage manager for nine shows, acted in five and been a make-up artist for two other productions. She most recently was the stage manager for a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at UNCC.
This summer, Miller and another VSA intern will join a small group of interns selected from around the world to take part in the program at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, an award winning summer theater program in western Massachusetts. Interns will work at the festival and take classes to learn about all aspects of running a professional theater company.
