Also at Monday’s meeting, the town board accepted the Town of Huntersville 2030 Community Plan presented by Principal Planner Zac Gordon. The plan, available on the town’s Web site and in paper form at town offices, outlines town goals, expectations and priorities for the extended future.
Work on the plan has included eight joint planning board/town board sessions, 15 planning board meetings, three public meetings and compilation of survey answers from a randomly selected group of citizens and suggestions and ideas submitted by more than 850 residents.
The plan focuses on housing, environment, transportation, economic and commercial development, downtown and public facilities needs, and aspirations for the town.
