In the business of giving

Written by

Two local chiropractic practices have announced their plans for holiday giving and invite the community to participate.

Dr. Jen Lidstrom of Lakeside Sports Chiropractic Center in Cornelius (19924 Jetton Road) says her office will once again host a "giving tree" to benefit the Cornelius Animal Shelter. The tree holds photos of animals at the center in need of adoption, as well as tags listing items needed to care for all the shelter's animals.

Through Dec. 22, donors can choose a tag from the tree, buy the supplies of their choosing and return the gift to the practice. Lidstrom says last year the tree supplied an entire truckload of goods for the shelter, as well as finding homes for three animals.

In conjunction with his one-year anniversary celebration, Dr. Seth Molivar of Molivar Chiropractic of Davidson (624 Jetton St., Suite 260) will collect donations for the Ada Jenkins Center. A patient appreciation party is planned for Thursday, Dec. 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Molivar says anyone who brings a food donation for the center's pantry will be registered to win a free massage. New patients will receive a certificate for a free exam and x-rays in exchange for a food donation.
