The Lake Norman Tennis Association presented a check in the amount of $3,500 to the Barium Springs Home for Children, a facility near Troutman that provides a caring place to live for abused or neglected children as well as early childhood development for low income families, counseling services and foster family programs. The check represents the proceeds of LNTA's recent Ace-toberfest Doubles Tournament for charity. More than 40 teams competed in the weekend tournament held at Hornets Nest Park on Beatties Ford Road. Presenting the check to Tamara Johnson (center), the Barium Springs Home for Children regional development manager, are LNTA representatives Wendy Fairer (left) and Amy Brandon (right).
