The MTA, representing more than 60 organizations, along with hundreds of theatrical artists, directors, and producers in the metro-Charlotte region, held the 2011 Metrolina Theatre Awards on Sunday, Oct. 9, to recognize outstanding performances and creative elements. The MTA organizes more than 80 peer nominators who attended 105 adjudicated shows, and submitted thousands of nominations.
DCP’s Ragtime earned awards in Outstanding Production and Outstanding Direction by the company’s Artistic Director, Melissa Ohlman-Roberge. Other recipients for their roles in Ragtime included Brianna Smith, Outstanding Supporting Actor – Female; Anna Sartin, for Outstanding Set Design; Jamey Varnadore, Outstanding Costume Design; Bruce Auerbach, Outstanding Lighting Design; John Smith, Outstanding Musical Direction/Conducting; and Felicia Davis, Outstanding Choreography.
