Luncheon to benefit HealthReach clinic

Written by

HealthReach Community Clinic, a free health care and prescription facility serving low income, uninsured residents of the community, will host a fundraising luncheon Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in Mooresville.

The Heroes Luncheon, a free, catered lunch open to the public, will feature a keynote address from Bob McKillop, head coach of the Davidson College men’s basketball team, along with testimonials from current and former patients of the clinic.

HealthReach Community Clinic is a community-based, volunteer-driven, non-profit charity that has been providing free health care in Iredell County since 2002. Only 58 percent of the clinic’s funding comes from grants. Donations, corporate sponsorships and fundraising events such as the Heroes Luncheon make up the balance of the funds needed to keep the clinic operational. For every dollar donated, HealthReach is able to provide more than $6 in medical
services.

Organizers hope the Heroes Luncheon will broaden the awareness of how HealthReach is impacting the greater Mooresville Community, and provide an opportunity for attendees to make a financial contribution.
