Written by

The Cornelius and Huntersville police departments will each hold their own Operation Medicine Drop events the next two weekends.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, the HPD will hold its old medicine disposal event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Harris Teeter store in NorthCross Shopping Center at 9753 Sam Furr Road. The CPD, in partnership with Rite Aid Pharmacy, will host its event Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Rite Aid parking lot, 21500 Catawba Avenue, adjacent to the police headquarters.

Operation Medicine Drop is a free event that offers the public a safe and secure way to dispose of medications. Residents can dispose of expired, unused prescription drugs or over-the-counter medications and keep them out of the wrong hands.

Operation Medicine Drop cannot accept biohazard materials. For more information visi twww.omd-nc.org/.
