Where Is Luke? for March 29, 2017

Okay, allow us one more bit of April Fool’s fun ... This is Luke, alright, but not our furry, four-legged Citizen mascot Luke. In case you’re the only person on the planet who hasn’t heard of him by now, this is Huntersville’s own Luke Maye in his now famous performance against the University of Kentucky last weekend in the NCAA Tournament.

Our mascot Luke is on spring break, but watch for a new “Where Is Luke?” challenge in next week’s edition.

Where Is Luke? for March 22, 2017

Last week’s picture of Citizen mascot Luke making new friends with siblings Gabby and Gerard Francis was taken at Huntersville Elementary School, in Nancy Pursley’s K-5 Specialized Academic Curriculum classroom (pictured below) for students who need additional academic support. Pursley says the program “is an integral part of the total school community (instead of separate from it) through inclusion, buddy classes, disability awareness and school-wide Special Olympics activities.”

Luke’s visit last week to Huntersville Elementary School was correctly identified by Jacquelyn Campo, Shelley Rainey, Ann Henson, Erin Sherrill, Dominique Wright, Debra Cassidy, Jennifer Hayes (“I am proud to say I work at this fine school with these two amazing students!”), Cindy Callahan, Jenna Gibson, Stephanie Ennis, Frank Gammon, Shannon Staton (“The students loved Luke and his visit!”), Joe Payment, Scot Mascioli, Jacob Boone, Malinda Dameron, John O’Neill (“It’s been a long time since our youngest was in 5th grade, but we still recognize the Bulldog in the background!”), Dan Boone and Jon Colpitts.
