However, several citizens, including Bill Jackson, attended town meetings and strongly expressed their dismay at such a change. What happened? Well, the council, tabled such a consideration. Even with the mayor’s extreme hubris and the council’s arrogance, they realized that the citizens were fed up with their heavy-handed approach. If the council had made it a referendum, it would have been overwhelmingly defeated.
Over the past few years, the board has acted without regard for the welfare of the town, only their inflated egos. Another example: the board did not seek the approval of voters in obligating the citizens to incur an indebtedness of over $100 million for the ill-fated MI-Connection. Now, Davidson faces bankruptcy.
We need to turn out all of the council, mayor and town manager and install business people with common sense, less inflated egos and completely transparent agendas.
