A rose by any other name ... Cassie Fambro

... is still a rose, even if it’s frozen. Discovery Place KIDS brought liquid nitrogen to the first Arts & Science Council Culture Feast held in the Lake Norman area, Friday Sept. 8. Cornelius Mayor Chuck Travis was handed a rose dipped in liquid nitrogen and frozen. The event also featured the Davidson Community Players, the Charlotte Folk Society, a piano performance and dancing from other organizations. The sold-out event was well-received, featuring a meal from Family Catering Services and drinks from Triple C Brewing Company and Shelton Vineyards. The feast is meant to bring exposure to the rich art, science and cultural options people have in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region.
