Joe Bergmann

Written by

Joe Bergmann was working near the World Trade Center when the towers were attacked 10 years ago. It didn’t take long for Bergmann and his wife, Kim, to decide that one close call was one too many. In 2002, they moved to Huntersville, where they are raising their two children and where Joe now owns Tech-EEZ, a local computer repair company. Joe took a break to answer our strictly non-technical questions as this week’s Fellow Citizen.

What is your current state of mind?

Overwhelmed.

What makes you happy?

Hanging out on Lake Norman with the family.

What qualities do you value in a friend?

A sense of humor and willingness to pick up the tab.

What do you regret about your youth?

Knowing what I know now, I probably would have tried to do better in school.

Which talent would you most like to have?

I wish I could translate my air guitar skills into a real guitar.

Where is your favorite place?

Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

What would you do if you hit the lottery?

Retire, travel and buy lots of toys.

On what occasion do you lie?

Occasionally on the flop, frequently on the turn and always on the river.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Convincing my wife to marry me.

What is your best quality?

My sense of humor.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Nothing.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Peanut butter. I can and do eat it by the spoonful.

What would you rather be doing right now?

Riding my mountain bike at Lake Norman State Park.
