David Johnson

Energetic and upbeat, David Johnson is the new head football coach at Hopewell High. He washired last week as the third coach in Titan football history and will be 27 years old when theseason kicks off Aug. 19 against Providence. The offensive coordinator at Berry Academy thepast three seasons, Johnson is excited about the opportunity to lead a 4A program in the I-MeckConference. He is also this week’s Fellow Citizen.

What is your current state of mind?

That if you work hard and do everything the right way good things will come from a positiveeffort.

 

What makes you happy?

Spending time with my family and friends.

 

What qualities do you value in a friend?

Honesty and integrity.

 

If you had a motto, what would it be?

If you take responsibility for your future, you will develop a passion to accomplish yourdreams.

 

What do you regret about your youth?

Growing up, all the experiences I had made me who I am today and have taught me a lot, soI have no regrets about my youth.

 

Which talent would you most like to have?

Dunk a basketball.

 

Where is your favorite place?

Notre Dame football stadium.

 

Who is your hero?

My grandfather, Cal Johnson for how he has lived his life and the lessons he has instilled inme.

 

What would you do if you hit the lottery?

Take care of my family and invest for the future.

 

On what occasion do you lie?

Maybe to a fault sometimes, I am always honest.

 

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Reaching my goal that I set for myself of becoming a head football coach before the age of 28.

 

What is your greatest treasure?

The ability to be a leader and be a positive role model.

 

What is your best quality?

My personality, I am very outgoing and fun to be around.

 

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My height. I would love to be 6-5.

 

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Breyers mint chip ice cream.

 

What would you rather be doing right now?

Where I am at today in my life is exactly what I love to do and I am blessed and ecstatic to bewhere I am.
