What is your current state of mind?
Sharp and focused, thanks to a little caffeine.
What makes you happy?
Sunshine, bookstores, and sushi and movie nights with my husband.
What qualities do you value in a friend?
Loyalty, a sense of humor, patience enough to listen when I need to vent, and the fortitude to tell me when I need to let it go.
If you had a motto, what would it be?
Learn something new every day.
What do you regret about your youth?
That I didn’t know then what I know now.
Where is your favorite place?
On the porch of my Mom’s log cabin in Kentucky, boating on one of the lakes in north Florida.
Who is your hero?
I have many, but the one that comes to mind right now is my sister, who is living her dream and working her way up in the beer brewing industry in Portland, Oregon.
What would you do if you hit the lottery?
Take care of my family, donate a large chunk to charity and travel with my husband.
On what occasion do you lie?
Only when the truth would do nothing but cause needless pain. If there’s even the slightest value in telling the truth, it needs to be told.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I’d have to say it’s my strong relationships with family and friends. And a pretty awesome lasagna recipe.
What is your greatest treasure?
My memories.
What is your best quality?
My ability to see the good in people.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wish I were a bit less plan-oriented and a bit more flexible.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Graeter’s Coconut Chip ice cream. I only get back to Kentucky a few times a year to have it, but when I do, it’s totally worth it.
What would you rather be doing right now?
Nothing. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself. I’m trying to learn to live in the moment.
