The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce held its first-ever, women-only "Chicks with Sticks" golf tournament Monday, June 11, at Birkdale Golf Club in Huntersville. Forty golfers drove, hacked, chipped, putted and likely swore their way through the captain's choice format, and enjoyed contests at most holes such as "Closest to the Pin," "Longest Drive" and even a chance to putt blindfolded.

Chamber organizers and officials say they hope the tournament becomes a mainstay annual event, and that it is one of the first in a series of women-focused initiatives the Chamber has committed to this year.
