A trio of golfers wait for their chance to tee off, for the moment dodging the heavy rain that eventually arrived near the end of play.
The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce held its first-ever, women-only "Chicks with Sticks" golf tournament Monday, June 11, at Birkdale Golf Club in Huntersville. Forty golfers drove, hacked, chipped, putted and likely swore their way through the captain's choice format, and enjoyed contests at most holes such as "Closest to the Pin," "Longest Drive" and even a chance to putt blindfolded.
