Owner and Director Catherine Pinkowski says the program at Little Scholars Academy is dedicated to the education of the whole child, and will provide its students with opportunities to manipulate a wide variety of materials as they work independently, in groups and with teachers. She says through open-ended activities, children will learn to observe, explore, investigate and experiment.

The preschool program is offered Tuesday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to noon, while the pre-kindergarten program for children ages 4-5 runs Monday through Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Pinkowski is the lead teacher in both programs, and holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Michigan. She also holds several early childhood education credentials and training certifications, including first aid, CPR and playground safety. Little Scholars Academy of Lake Norman is co-located with Terpsichore’s Dance Centre at 19615 Liverpool Parkway in Cornelius, less than one mile from Exit 28 on I-77.
