LNRMC gets national nod

Written by

Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville is one of eight Charlotte-area hospitals recently cited as “top performers on key quality measures” by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditation body for U.S. hospitals.

To be recognized, a hospital had to meet or exceed 95 percent of performance thresholds in at least two categories. The hospital achieved those thresholds for its heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia care outcomes.

Lake Norman Regional is one of only 450 hospitals to earn the distinction of top performer on key quality measures for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance. This recognition is based on data reported for 2010.

“We understand that what matters most to our patients at Lake Norman Regional is safe, effective care,” says CEO Greg Lowe. “That’s why Lake Norman Regional has made a commitment to accreditation and to positive patient outcomes through evidence-based care processes.”

Other area hospitals recognized by the group include Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy in Charlotte, Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville, Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville, Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, S.C., and Chester Regional Medical Center in Chester, S.C.

The “Improving America’s Hospitals” annual report is available at www.jointcommission.org. Lake Norman Regional will also be recognized on The Joint Commission’s Quality Check site at www.qualitycheck.org.
